Pup Update

Well, things changed very quickly from early this morning to this afternoon.  Our adoption application was approved this afternoon and we are on our way to Davie, FL at 7am tomorrow, Sunday, January 10.  And we will be meeting THREE little black shih tzus.  So I have been working on spreadsheets and lots of numbers trying to get work done that I thought I was going to have time to do tomorrow.  Ain’t happenin’.  Butch was ready to go as soon as we got the call.  I didn’t dare say I had volunteer work instead.  I would like to celebrate a 41st anniversary in August. And I’m not joking about that.  He’s pretty patient with my “stuff” but there is a limit.  And I know how far I can go before I need to reel myself back in.

Anyway, here are the pups we get to play with tomorrow and decide on bringing home with us.

One is a little boy named Reggie who has a black face and back — kind of like black paint got spilled on him.  Reggie told his human caretakers he wanted to get his shots and all spiffed up to meet us.

Reggie is pretty darn cute and seems to like the camera.  If we get Reggie, I don’t think we will change his name.  Reggie is young.

And Selena Mae has a few more pics, too.  I still have a very soft place in my heart for this precious pup.  Her name will change to “Bella” as soon as the adoption papers are signed. We have loved her picture from the start and she is who made us start thinking about adopting again.

Oh, my Lord, she is just too adorable.  And she’s a girl. And we’re looking for a little change.  We’ve never had a girl pup.  She is also young.

Both are about the same age, I think.  Fairly young at 4 years old or so — and house trained. Yay!

And, a third. Goody Lynn.  I am told that she is a little black shih tzu who looks very much like Selena/Bella.  I haven’t seen a picture and don’t know her age.  We really want a 4 or 5 year old.  Old enough to be trained but young enough to be active and very playful.

Who rides back home with us will depend on what we feel when we meet them.  I’ve never met a shih tzu I didn’t like, tho.  Even tho Beau could be a little curmudgeon, we loved him so very much and he loved us.

REALLY looking forward to our trip tomorrow.  We will have a pretty good “puppy fix” by the time we leave there.

I’ll let you know our decision sometime tomorrow afternoon.
